Living With an Addictive Personality

Writer: Jessica D'ErcoleJessica D'Ercole

Sometimes having an addictive personality can be a lot to juggle. Others don't realize they have this at all. Either or, there's things we can do to minimize the risk of snagging cumpulsions.

Personally, I was always somebody who couldn't let anything get in the way of what I want. I wouldn't let myself be the reason something goes awry. My character traits proved me wrong. I myself was under the wrath of addiction firsthand. Addiction is a disease that runs in my family, so I was always aware of the consequences. Dolefully, this didn't change the fact that addiction can grasp anything in it's way.

In this type of lifestyle, compulsiveness is common. This can range from repeating the same rituals obsessively, to purchasing things you don't need with out care.

Here are five a signs you have an addictive personality:

  • Changing your mind often without reason

  • Getting suddenly over joyous/filled with gratitude

  • Clinging to new hobbies too easily or frequently

  • Making unnecessary purchases last second

  • Making friends quickly/too often

Now, all that can be done when an addictive personality is noticed is prevent an addiction from arising. If you have any questions or concerns about the matter, feel free to comment below!
